NAD is also good, it fuels the mitochondrial electron transport chain and supports DNA repair.
5 amino 1mq inhibits NNMT, boosting NAD levels to support mitochondrial metabolism and repair
Not yet. There are things on the horizon but nothing commercially available yet. For now we have SS-31 for repairing and strengthening mitochondria, mots-c for ampk-mediated mitohormesis and NAD optimization
NAD+:NADH ratio tends to be skewed towards NADH in people with chronic inflammation, long covid, cfs, sedentary lifestyle or who are older.
Taking NAD+ helps temporarily but doesn’t get to the root of the problem which is NAD+ regeneration in mitochondria. Anyway, 5-amino theoretically should help but it didn’t do anything for me and I haven’t seen any anecdotes that suggest that it works. Seems to be one of those things that should work on paper but when introduced to the highly dynamic, complex environment of the cell doesn’t seem to produce results
Right now for sure. SS-31 was integral to my long covid recovery. Mots-c didn’t really work for me but it works for many others. However the thing that it does, AMPK activation, is generally vital to longevity, fitness and mitochondrial resilience.
