Ya I had the same issue through 2 kits. It also has to deal with the manufacture of the vials if it was packaged poorly

But like Rolf said if it’s far over the 0.9% alcohol that will also disrupt the amino structure and cause the gel or degrading of it

Yeah but a pH strip won't necessarily tell you if that's the case. Isn't BA neutral in water? It can interfere with peptides of course but testing the water on a strip won't necessarily get to the cause of the issue

No no I’m just saying that’s the cheaper and immediate option. If not then a refractometer but that’s a lot lol
