29g 1/2" works well for me. Switched up from 1-1/4" a few years ago.

I go between 27ga 5/8” and 30ga 1/2”. The 30 takes a while to draw with but it’s not terrible. Injection takes 10 seconds.

are you using 5/8” needle or the ET built in?

Reason I use the 29g 1/2" is that I can get that size as a syringe tip and use a Peptide Pen. I do 20 units 3x a week, so works for me. If you're a heavy user, you'd go through that with 3ml pretty quickly
